The IEA’s 2025 base case projects European data-centre electricity demand rising 70% between 2024 and 2030, making electricity supply a central development constraint for the region.
About / Fact sheet
Power first. Then the building.
SparkDCS is Spark Data Centre Technologies Ltd, a London-based developer integrating on-site energy with phased data-centre delivery in the UK and mainland Europe.
Power defines the site brief.
The SparkDCS brief puts a grid-backed energy centre and private wire alongside the data halls, with heat-recovery interfaces developed for district networks through Vital Energi.
The Platform page specifies the closing evidence for each gate, including signed land rights, consent documents, design freeze and commissioning records.
Why this model, now
NESO reports that Great Britain’s old grid-connections queue had grown above 700 GW—four times what is needed by 2030. The reformed pipeline prioritises ready projects and future demand, including data centres.
Delivery partners
SparkDCS is the developer working alongside EDIG, the land-owning platform holding the sites across the UK, Spain and Poland, and brings each site to shovel-ready. Partners are integrated through the development brief, with progression defined by the evidence gates on Platform.
